After one hour of movie, I look to my watch every 10 minutes. Limit situation my ass. Best moments in the film were in the trailer. Bad for my money, but good for my neck ( beer with my friends after the movie).
(People.com) – Guess Jessica Simpson isn’t a “Melrose Place” fan — at least not anymore!
After the recent news that her sister, Ashlee, had been cut from the CW drama, the singer blasted the show on her official Twitter page.
“CW catching up on MP,” Simpson tweeted on Sunday night. “Who writes this crap? i have had bad scripts to work with, but this? thank God my sister is amazing and got you some press.”

“Having the chance to play Violet on ‘Melrose Place’ has been a thrill,” she said in a statement. “Although I always knew her story would come to a final, insanely unpredictable end, playing a creepy, unstable character was something I always wanted to do, so I jumped at the chance. Thanks to the CW and the entire cast and crew of ‘Melrose Place’ for allowing me this opportunity.”
In a recent poll, 67 percent of PEOPLE.com readers said they wouldn’t miss Simpson-Wentz on the TV show.

Peter Turner has accused the American Beauty star of costing him his job at the Clarke Cooke House in Newport, Rhode Island, after friends violated state laws by lighting up during a meal in June (09).
Turner alleges the head waiter instructed him to ask Spacey’s party to put out their cigarettes – but the star reportedly took exception to the request, reports RadarOnline.com.
Turner recalls, “I told the maitre d’ (they were) smoking, he said to ask them not to smoke. I did politely ask them not to. The second time I made a joke about it – I said, ‘You’re not allowed to smoke in here unless you’re on fire.’ The third time… Kevin Spacey basically verbatim said to me, ‘You know, you’re an aggressive p**ck.’ I said to him, ‘I’m sorry, I’m just doing my job. Does anybody need anything?’ I was told (by Spacey), ‘I need you to get the f**k away from my table.’”
The waiter claims his bosses were furious after the incident – and fired him from his position three days later.
Turner insists the lay-off has cost him dearly, adding: “I was banking on making somewhere between $12- and $18,000 (at the restaurant) and that’s basically what I’m out because someone thought that they were more privileged than anyone else.” ( hollywood. com)
Patrick Swayze, who soared to stardom as a heartthrob dancer in “Dirty Dancing” and ascended to romantic icon status as a deceased lover in “Ghost,” died Monday after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 57.
“Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months,” said a statement released Monday evening by his publicist Annett Wolf.
The actor had kept working despite the diagnosis, putting together a memoir with his wife and shooting “The Beast,” an A&E drama series for which he had already made the pilot. It drew a respectable 1.3 million viewers when the 13 episodes ran last winter, but A&E said it had reluctantly decided not to renew it for a second season.
Swayze, whose work on “The Beast” was singled out as being particularly compelling, said he opted not to use painkilling drugs while making the show because they would have taken the edge off his performance. He acknowledged that time might be running out given the grim nature of the disease.
In fact, the actor was hospitalized with pneumonia in January while promoting “The Beast,” which premiered Jan. 15. He had been scheduled to attend the Television Critics Assn. press tour in Los Angeles at the time to tubthump the show but was taken ill and couldn’t attend.
It was first reported in March 2008 that the actor was being treated for inoperable Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. In an ABC interview in January, Swayze said it “seemed likely” he would live for two more years.
A trained dancer and gymnast, the athletic Swayze was a swooner as a romantic lead, garnering his first of three Golden Globe nominations for his electrifying performance in “Dirty Dancing.”
The 1987 movie showcased Swayze’s dual abilities as a dancer and actor. He also composed and performed a song for the movie, “She’s Like the Wind,” which became a hit. And his line, “Nobody puts Baby in a corner” — which he directed at Jennifer Grey character’s father, played by Jerry Orbach — became a classic movie one-liner.
Swayze turned down an offer of $6 million to appear in a sequel but 17 years later popped up in a cameo role in “Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights.”
Swayze followed “Dirty Dancing” with two projects that capitalized on his sex appeal and athleticism: “Road House” and “Next of Kin,” both released in 1989.
He soared further as a romantic lead the following year with Jerry Zucker’s “Ghost.” His robust and delicate performance as a dead man who didn’t tell his girlfriend that he loved her while he was alive captivated audiences. Swayze and Demi Moore teamed for one of the most erotic scenes in mainstream movies when they sculpted clay to the Righteous Brothers’ meltingly romantic 1965 love song “Unchained Melody.”
Swayze earned his second Globe nomination for “Ghost” and became a poster boy, earning People’s “Sexiest Man Alive” cover in 1991.
That same year, Swayze parlayed his buff stuff into a role as a bank robber/surfer guru in “Point Break.”
While he was honored as ShoWest Male Star of the Year in 1992, Swayze’s star aura dimmed by appearances in a number of lackluster films in the 1990s, including “City of Joy,” “Father Hood,” “Three Wishes” and Black Dog.”
An intelligent and introspective performer, Swayze did on occasion play against his stud persona. He won acclaim, and his third Globe nom, as a drag queen in “To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar” (1995). Swayze also mixed things up by playing an antiseptic self-help guru in the subversive indie comedy “Donnie Darko” and as a golf instructor in the offbeat British comedy “Keeping Mum.”
(CNN) — Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres will join the judges’ panel on “American Idol” for the show’s ninth season beginning in 2010, a Fox spokeswoman confirmed Wednesday.
“I’m thrilled to be the new judge on American Idol,” DeGeneres said Wednesday. “I’ve watched since the beginning, and I’ve always been a huge fan. So getting this job is a dream come true, and think of all the money I’ll save from not having to text in my vote.”
The popular comedian and entertainer will fill a seat left vacant by Paula Abdul, who announced she was leaving the show in August after eight seasons.
DeGeneres will sit alongside Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi after auditions are completed for the popular talent show, which starts in January. Until then, guest judges including Mary J. Blige, Kristin Chenoweth, Joe Jonas and Neil Patrick Harris will fill the empty slot, Fox said.
“We are thrilled to have Ellen DeGeneres join the “American Idol” judges’ table this season. She is truly one of America’s funniest people and a fantastic performer who understands what it’s like to stand up in front of audiences and entertain them every day,” said Mike Darnell, president of Alternative Entertainment for Fox.
“We feel that her vast entertainment experience, combined with her quick wit and passion for music, will add a fresh new energy to the show.”
DeGeneres brings years of experience in front of a live audience as the host of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” now in its seventh season, and the host of the 79th Annual Academy Awards.
In her new role, the Emmy Award-winning talk show host faces the task of winning over Abdul’s supporters, who lamented that her departure would irreparably alter the show.
The singer-dancer turned “Idol” judge was known for her positive comments to the singers participating in the shows. She was also known for her on-camera run-ins with Cowell and other judges in the show.
“With sadness in my heart, I’ve decided not to return to Idol. I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all being a part of a show that I helped from day 1 become an international phenomenon,” a statement on Abdul’s verified Twitter account said last month.
The mono set may be revelatory for some, but even the box of stereo albums — the best-known versions and the primary sales focus — is a step up from the 22-year-old original CD releases.

Check out “Lovely Rita,” from 1967′s “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.”
The shimmering guitar intro, followed by Paul McCartney’s soaring “Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh,” the bouncy bass line and John Lennon and George Harrison’s smirky backing vocals, offers delicious ear candy that doesn’t rot your teeth.
Many other audible delights emerge to the surface more often than they did in the prehistoric days of vinyl and cassette because of the remastering.
Harrison’s surprisingly cheerful-sounding sitar that mimics Lennon’s melody in “Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown),” from 1965′s “Rubber Soul,” is much crisper.( souce CNN )
LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) — Michael Jackson’s family and about 200 of their closest friends gathered on a hill Thursday evening for their final farewell to the pop singer, who died 10 weeks ago.
Jackson’s burial may lay to rest some of the mystery and controversy that erupted with his sudden death on June 25.
His large family was divided over where the superstar’s final resting place should be, but matriarch Katherine Jackson settled on a crypt inside the well-guarded and ornate Great Mausoleum at Forest Lawn cemetery in Glendale, California.
Thursday’s service began 90 minutes past the announced start time, leaving dozens of celebrities — including Elizabeth Taylor — waiting in their seats for the 26 cars carrying the Jackson clan to arrive.
It began with Jackson’s five brothers — each wearing a single sequined glove — carrying his flower-covered bronze casket onto the outdoor stage among six large bouquets of white lilies and white roses, along with green topiaries.
His three children, led by daughter, Paris, 11, placed a crown atop their father’s coffin, which a family spokesman said it was “to signify the final resting place of the King of Pop.”
Jackson’s children, parents and siblings took their seats in the front row, while his nieces and nephews filled several rows of white chairs behind them.
After an opening prayer by Pastor Lucius Smith, soul music legend Gladys Knight sang the gospel hymn “His Eye Is on the Sparrow.”
Clifton Davis sang “Never Can Say Goodbye,” a hit he wrote for The Jackson 5 — the group that featured a young Michael and his brothers.
What was said by Jackson’s father, Joe Jackson, and others who took the lectern is not publicly known, because the family barred news cameras from the ceremony. A family statement issued afterward said close friends and family, including the Rev. Al Sharpton, spoke “spontaneously to celebrate Michael’s life.”
News helicopters hovering above captured video from a distance, but without sound.
Lisa Marie Presley, one of Jackson’s former wives and the daughter of Elvis, attended the service, according to the family statement. It did not mention Debbie Rowe, Jackson’s second wife and the mother of his two oldest children.
Macaulay Culkin, the “Home Alone” actor who spent time with Jackson during his Neverland Ranch days, was there with his girlfriend, actress Mila Kunis.
